Lauren & Alex – a Grandview Wedding on Lookout Mountain

Lauren and Alex… Weddings at Grandview are always beautiful. It’s a beautiful location tucked away beside Rock City on Lookout Mountain. It really couldn’t be any prettier. The view of the Chattanooga Valley below is stunning, the staff is perfection, the Tudor style house is quaint, classic, and beautiful. Lauren & Alex’s wedding took Grandview and went a step further with it, mostly because of who they are.

Lauren IS a fabulous photographer out of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Her work is beautiful, she is beautiful. They chose to have a destination wedding in the most beautiful of places with a handful of close friends and family. I knew the wedding would be incredible but I really had no idea what I was walking in to that day when I arrived to photograph their wedding.

I’ve genuinely never met a family like theirs. The closeness, the friendship, the way they intermingled both families as if they were one from the get-go. I’ve never seen boys who loved their Mama’s that much or girls who were so close to their Daddies. I’ve genuinely never seen anything like it – families who hugged and cried and just loved each other the way they do. I was awestruck, now I’m determined to work on making my own family relationship more like theirs.

I can’t even tell you how many times I had tears in my eyes. I’ve never seen people (and I mean all of the people there) love each other so much. I genuinely wanted to ask the Groom’s mother what her secret was to raising so many amazing men who clearly adore her. The Brides 92 year old Grandmother HAD A PACEMAKER put in JUST so she could live long enough to see her granddaughter get married – she said she didn’t care if she died the moment after – but she wanted to be able to see it.
