What an amazing love story…

Tom is one of those incredible compounding Pharmacists who actually create drugs, mixing the components himself. As owner of Solutions Pharmacy he hired this really lovely woman to work for him a few years ago - her name is Bethany. Bethany is gorgeous, kind, loving, nurturing, sweet, genuine, witty, sarcastic, and she’s one of those people who can light up your day with one sentence. How could Tom not just fall head over heels in love with her? And how could she not be drawn to his kind, gentle, and brilliant personality? They’re perfectly matched.

After a year or more of planning their beautiful, intimate ceremony at The Grandview on Lookout Mountain their perfect wedding almost didn’t happen. Tom and his groomsmen went to Amsterdam for Toms bachelor party and were unable to leave because of airline closings due to the volcanic ash from Iceland. Incredibly they were able to get a flight and make it home just in time. The outdoor ceremony and reception were nearly moved indoors because of the 80% chance of thunderstorms (and the staff of Blissful Moments and Grandview did a phenomenal job planning and setting up just in case). It rained once, all day, for about 30 seconds. A vase of flowers stood in the place of Tom’s father, his best man, who sadly passed away before the wedding. We decided that the 30 second burst of rain, right as we were posing the family formals - was his way of letting us know he was there.

Thankfully, the wedding did happen and it happened perfectly. Few weddings go quite so well. All the guests and family were wonderful and had an amazing evening celebrating the marriage of Bethany and Tom. We ended the evening at Stone Fort Inn where the couple stayed the night before heading off to spend their two week honeymoon on a private island in Fiji.

A mix of photojournalism and Fine Art images is what you’ll see here… the real moments and the art that tells their love story. One of my favorite images was captured by Cristie - where Bethany is loving watching as Tom dances with his mother -gorgeous! Definitely more Fine Art images than we normally show - but they suit the day, the couple, and the moments.

Kevin & Ann’s Nashville Engagement Session ~ Nashville Wedding Photographer

Downtown Nashville Engagement Session Wedding Photographer Nashville Tennessee
Though I’d spoken with Ann on the phone several times as we booked her wedding, the first time I was actually able to meet Ann and Kevin was in Nashville, TN for their engagement session. Currently Kevin and Ann are living hundreds of miles apart in two different states. Nashville was where they met for the first time and somewhere sortof in between where they live now so it seemed the perfect place to photograph their engagement session.

At first glance I could see how close and genuine their relationship is. I could tell how much they miss each other from spending so much time apart. I could see that they were perfectly matched for each other. Their relationship is clearly romantic, sweet, caring, and (most importantly) fun. We started the session at Centennial park in Nashville where the gigantic replica of the Parthenon is located. It seems a little out of place in the middle of Tennessee but it’s beautiful to photograph nonetheless. The park was literally covered in people taking photos for prom, wedding parties, and other people taking photos of flowers and such. We ended the session in downtown Nashville on the strip and on the bridge that’s a like a mini-replica of the pedestrian bridge here in Chattanooga with a gorgeous view of the Nashville skyline.

Many thanks to Amanda Williams and Tessa Rice for making the trip to Nashville with me and helping to haul lights and camera gear around. We had an incredibly fun time. Also thanks to Kevin, for buying us all an amazing Japanese dinner after the session and for putting up with four crazy women all evening. Not to forget Ann, thank you for trusting me and having enough faith in me to choose me to photograph your wedding without ever having met me. We’re going to have an incredible time documenting your ultimate love story next month!

Here’s a sneak peek from the engagement session - before the flooding hit Nashville. Don’t forget to make a donation to help those affected by the flooding, you may do so by going to http://www.nashvilleredcross.org We will be donating $1 for every comment left on this blog post - so make sure you leave a comment!

Buffy & Tom’s Engagement Session and a Sneak Peek from their Wedding ~ Cleveland Wedding Photographer

Engagement Session Old Woolen Mill Cleveland TN

Last year one of my most favorite wedding coordinators in the world, Cheryl Hyland of Blissful Moments, called me in to meet with Buffy and Tom about photographing their wedding. I instantly adored them. After talking to them for about an hour we realized that Buffy was actually one of my little sisters best friends in elementary school. I can remember her being just a scrawny little thing who, along with my sister, set out to terrorize me during their weekend slumber parties. She’s definitely grown up and, while she’s definitely still tiny (can we please bottle her metabolism?) she’s no longer that scrawny little kid and, hopefully, won’t try to terrorize me anymore ;)

I very much enjoyed getting to know Tom and getting to know the grown-up Buffy while photographing their engagement session at the Old Woolen Mill in Cleveland, TN last fall (yes, I really am *that* behind on blogging). Here are some photos from their engagement session and a few from their wedding this past Saturday at The Grandview on Lookout Mountain and Stone Fort Inn in downtown Chattanooga. Check out the amazing 1955 Chevy Bel Air rented from Brandon Burns - it’s an absolutely amazing car.

Shannan & Jeremy’s Wedding ~ Patten Chapel ~ Loose Cannon Studio ~ Chattanooga Wedding Photographer

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

Ceremony: UTC’s Patten Chapel
Reception: Loose Cannon
Coordinator: Trinity Pearson
Catering: Connoisseur Catering
Video: Allie Bombach of Red Reel Video
DJ: Soundforce Entertainment
Cake: Kimmies Cakes
Photography: Melody Hood of Innamorata Photography
Assistant: Tessa Rice

I love Shannan and Jeremy, they’re one of those couples that compliment each other perfectly, who can communicate with each other without speaking, who finish each others sentences, and who love each other truly, for who they are. Both very outgoing, fun-loving people their wedding was an amazing gathering of friends and family and their reception was one hell of a party.

The day was just amazing. Trinity Pearson coordinated and made the day flow perfectly. The wedding was beautiful, the weather was perfection, the reception at Loose Cannon was perfectly decorated and the incredible food from Connoisseur Catering was perfectly presented and incredibly delicious. Soundforce, as always, did an absolutely incredible job keeping the party going!

I enjoyed seeing how happy Shannan and Jeremy were all day. Their smiles never left their faces, they didn’t stress over the little things, they just enjoyed themselves and their friends and family being there. You can see from the photos how much fun they had - Shannan looked incredible - she’s especially beautiful when she laughs. I think this was the first wedding where I saw the “Shoe Game” played - it was hysterical! Shannan and Jeremy took off their shoes, each got one of their own shoes and one of the other persons and the DJ asked questions like “Who will fall asleep first tonight?” and “Who is more likely to fake having a headache?” and, while Shannan and Jeremy sat back to back and couldn’t see each other, they would hold up the shoe of the person that the question fit. It was really very funny.

I also think my very favorite cake cutting photo ever is in this series of images - where Shannan is bent over digging cake out of her dress and Jeremy is standing there all innocently as though he didn’t just smear an entire piece of cake on his bride. Never fear though, as you’ll soon see - she paid him back quite well….

You two are amazing and I wish you long, happy, healthy life together!

Casey & Sam ~ Beautiful Wedding at The Grandview ~ Chattanooga Wedding Photographer

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

Casey’s a very special person. She’s one of those people who make you feel like you’re the most amazing person alive just by spending 5 minutes on the phone with her. She’s one of those people who puts other peoples needs before hers. She’s one of those people you want to be friends with for the rest of your life. She’s a survivor, she’s a fighter, she’s an incredibly strong and amazing woman. From what I can tell about Sam - he compliments her perfectly. He’s sweet, thoughtful, loving, and the way he looks at Casey is so filled with love. You can see the happiness on their faces in their photos - you can feel it. They fit together like they were made to go together. I’m thrilled that they found each other and I’m thrilled that I was able to photograph their wedding day. I also really enjoyed taking photos at the Doubletree in downtown Chattanooga after the wedding. We had so much fun!

Congrats, and so much love, to you both, I wish you a lifetime of health and happiness together!

Truly amazing people made this day even more incredible. The beautiful venues, the excellent catering, the fabulous coordination, and the absolutely amazing Bride and Groom along with their families and friends made this day unforgettable. They had a huge, wonderful wedding party who oh so graciously stood outside in some sweltering heat to get some incredible photos outside of the church and at one of my favorite places (The Craigmiles Mausoleum, which has an incredible ghost story attached to it - along with just being absolutely beautiful). Chris’s amazing Italian Family was a riot on the dance floor, I love weddings where culture is introduced in to the wedding and/or recpetion. Enjoy the enormous amount of photos, I just couldn’t narrow it down!
