Jane Cy Wedding Primrose Cottage Atlanta Georgia GA Roswell Historic Plantation

Primrose Cottage is a beautiful historic landmark in the downtown area of Roswell, GA not far from where I lived when my daughter, Isabelle, was born. I used to drive through their historic downtown on a pretty regular basis because I loved the old houses, the big old plantations, The Roswell Mill… The entire area, even though it’s smack dab in Metro Atlanta, has such a warm, inviting small town feel. It hasn’t changed since I left there 9 years ago.

For their January 2nd wedding the “cottage” (which may look small, but, in fact is 3 stories including a beautiful new ballroom and a gorgeous outdoor patio/terrace area) was still beautifully decorated for Christmas.

Jane and Cy’s wedding was quite a whirlwind with a ton of family and friends in attendance and a gorgeous, fun, wonderful wedding party. Jane has some of the most beautiful friends! Jane made for a stunning bride. I also love that they mixed in many of the Vietnamese traditions that Jane’s family holds dear. There were lots of sentimental touches, emotional speeches, and heartfelt moments.

Thanks to Primrose Cottage for being wonderful, helpful, and accommodating and to Tessa Rice for being a fantastic assistant and capturing some wonderful photos with me.

Most of all, congrats to Jane & Cy… I know it took a lot of hard work, planning, and determination to pull of your wedding. It certainly showed. Congratulations to you both and I wish you a lifetime of happiness together!

Lookout Mountain Fairyland Club Wedding Exit Wedding Photographer Chattanooga Georgia Lookout Mountain First Presbyterian Church

Anna and Michael had a beautiful wedding at First Presbyterian Church in Downtown, Chattanooga followed by a gorgeous reception at one of my favorite venues, the Lookout Mountain Fairyland Club. The ceremony was sweet, loving, and special. Ben Hayden performed part of the ceremony. It may seem silly but I was actually a little bit starstruck since I grew up watching him on television every weekend with my grandparents.

Anna and Michael have beautiful, wonderful families and I felt truly blessed to be able to share such a special day with them. It’s always wonderful to be around people who are truly happy and truly excited about such an amazing occasion.

Anna began her day with fabulous hair and makeup at Hair a Go Go in North Chattanooga. Laura’s Garden provided the beautiful floral arrangements on the tables, the cake and the bouquets. Tammy at the Fairyland Club did an outstanding job as always. The band rocked the night away - it was an amazing day.

Much love to you both, Anna and Michael!

Jane Cy Engagement Session Farm Chattanooga Photographer North Georgia
I love when people are sentimental. Jane and Cy’s engagement session was SO sentimental. We photographed the session in Whitfield County, GA at Cy’s grandparents farm. Funny enough, Whitfield County was named after Cy’s family, that made it even more special. I really enjoyed the farm - not only were the views spectacular but there were so many little personal touches all over the property. You can tell it’s a place that been well lived in and well loved. It’s a place that, even when you don’t live there - or even know the people who do live there - you can tell is someones home. Not just their house, their home. I loved every minute that I was there (except the few minutes when the bull was growling and I asked Cy and Jane if they were worried and Cy said “Nah, you’re the one who’s wearing red.” Thanks Cy, hahah! ).

Andrea Joki is coming to town ~ Chattanooga, TN ~ Photography Workshop ~ February 27 & 28

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

Andrea Joki is an amazing photographer. Living in Finland she captures light and landscapes like no one I’ve ever seen. Andrea is an artist. She begins every image by finding or creating the perfect light and adds magic with her incredible post processing skills. Though she’ll try to convince you otherwise - she is a true artist. Unlike most true artists I’ve met - Andrea possesses the amazing ability to teach and to share. She teaches and shares her techniques, her thought processes, and her technical knowledge and she does it in a way that easy to understand. She doesn’t try to transform your work in to hers or make you think like she does - she teaches you how to create your own art with your own vision.

Andrea will be in Chattanooga, TN for a workshop on February 27 & 28. The workshop was originally filled prior to it’s announcement - but a couple of people had things come up so there are currently two open spaces. We’re also having a dinner on Saturday, February 27th that’s open to all photographers - if you’re interested in attending please email me at melodyhood@gmail.com

Here are the workshop details (as written by Andrea):
